My lab research is focused on the molecular mechanisms regulating membrane trafficking towards lysosomes and how pathogens manipulate the endolysosomal pathway for their growth and survival. In particular, we are studying how small GTP-binding proteins of the Rab and Arf-like family and their effectors regulate cargo trafficking towards lysosomes in mammalian cells and could serve as potential targets for intracellular pathogens for their growth and survival.
